IN-THE-FIELD EXPERIENCE

MORNING NEWS
REPORTER

Engaging, Audience-driven, Trustworthy

MSP Trooper Ride-along 1.jpg

I am proud to be a core member of the TV6 Morning Team, where I serve as both a live reporter and a content producer. In this role, I independently produce two of the four morning segments each day, coordinating interviews, crafting compelling storylines, and ensuring all content meets the station’s editorial standards.

In addition to my live reporting responsibilities, I write, edit, and prepare copyright-ready stories for publication across the station’s digital platforms, including the website and mobile app. Throughout the year, I also step into the anchor chair, delivering clear, engaging broadcasts and maintaining a strong on-air presence.

Outside the studio, I focus on cultivating strong, meaningful connections across Michigan’s Upper Peninsula. By engaging with community leaders, educators, business owners, and local organizations, I work to identify impactful stories and highlight the voices that shape everyday life in the region.

Multi-Media
Journalist

Resourceful, Adaptable, Accurate

When starting as a multi-media journalist, I had a strong commitment to telling meaningful stories that resonate deeply with the people of Michigan’s Upper Peninsula. I not only wanted to inform, but also connect and uplift local communities by  demonstrating journalistic rigor, empathy, and genuine engagement.

As an MMJ, I covered a diverse array of stories — from flight paramedics with Guardian Flight highlighting life-saving EMS work in remote regions to the re-emergence of community tradition in Ishpeming Township’s Neighbors Night Out, where first responders, fire and police, engaged directly with residents. I also reported on education trends in rural U.P. schools, focused on environmental and recreational stories such as tracking monarch butterfly migration through Bay de Noc Township, illuminating the U.P.’s place in a larger ecological story. Outdoor sports writing, covering musicians, and community participation have been a highlights. I also focused on lighthearted but culturally resonant pieces, such Plaidurday –  a Yooper-favorite.

ON-AIR
PERSONALITY

Energetic, Engaging, Authentic

Beginning in 2019, I launched my audio production career as a DJ for 91.5 WUPX, where I quickly developed a reputation for energy, creativity, and audience engagement.

In January 2022, I expanded my role by creating and producing my own on-air variety show, Feel Good Fridays — a program designed to bring a fresh, upbeat sound to listeners across Marquette, Michigan.

By March, the show had built remarkable momentum, drawing a strong and loyal listenership. When my colleague, Del, joined the program, our collaboration transformed Feel Good Fridays into one of the station’s most successful and recognizable shows.

LIVE & IN-STUDIO
PRODUCTION

Beyond my work in the DJ booth, I broadened my audio and visual production experience by contributing to theater productions and live musical ensembles at Northern Michigan University. One of my favorite projects was co-producing a music video with other classmates for a local artist. Through these roles, I gained hands-on experience in live sound engineering, technical setup, visual design, and collaborative performance support.
